Howdy from deep within Eagles’ Nest where I am busy working on all the new and exciting things for camp this summer. Camp Fern 2013 is shaping up to be a great summer. We have chosen Texas as our theme for the summer so pack your best Texas duds and practice up on your line dancing because we are going to be doing some boot scootin’ at our Texas sized carnival.
Cody and I have been working hard since September, to assemble the best staff ever, and I am proud to say that we are well on our way with lots of returning staff and some terrific new ones.
Our leadership staff are already hard at work planning new and exciting activities for our classes. Some of the things to look forward to are:
All new projects in crafts
Land navigation in nature
New skill activities in canoeing
New sports games
These are just a few of the new things in the works, but I don't want to give away all of the surprises so you will just have to be patient and come to camp to find out the rest.
Well I hope everyone has a great spring and is as excited about opening day 2013 as I am.
See ya soon,
Hi everyone, greetings from camp. I sure do miss all the campers and counselors that bring so much life to camp. It was such a blessing to make so many new friends last summer, and I appreciate all that everyone did to make my first summer a success. I am already looking forward and counting the days until opening day. The Eagle's nest crew has been working hard on new ideas and activities for next summer. Cody and I have already started recruiting new counselors, so if you know anyone that has what it takes to be a Camp Fern counselor, please let us know.
The fall is starting to arrive in East Texas and the trees have already started to turn. This is such a beautiful, peaceful place all year long. I see the eagles almost daily and even saw an otter in the lake a few weeks ago. I have been trying to get a picture but that hasn't happened yet.
I would love to hear from all of you and find out what you are up to this fall, so send news when you can. Well I better get back to planning all that cool stuff for next summer. Don't forget to check out the website and facebook for all the latest news and happenings.
