Core Areas of instruction
All Camp Fern counselors must be able to teach classes in one or more of our core areas of instruction. All counselors will attend a pre-camp training session where they will be taught the skills needed to be successful in these areas.
Waterfront:
Includes swimming, canoeing, sailing, blobbing, water skiing
English Horseback Riding:
Includes barn classes, trail rides, flatwork, jumping
Nature/Outdoor Education:
Includes open flame cooking, camp/bushcraft, lashing, knot-tying, plant/tree identification, environmental education
Sports :
Includes high and low elements challenge course, riflery, archery, trampoline, team sports
Arts/Crafts:
Includes pottery, painting, leather work, jewelry, glass beads, (many others) drama, dance
